You know those annoying inserts in magazines that serve as involuntary bookmarks? They’re usually perfume samples or subscription renewal forms, and I typically rip them out and throw them away without so much as a glance. Last week, however, a L’Oreal insert caught my eye. It included a sample of their new Magic Lumi Primer - from the brand’s Studio Secrets Magic line – in addition to a $2 coupon. Because I’m a sucker for any product that promises luminous and/or dewy skin I decided to actually try it out and am I ever glad that I did. The sample was enough to test it out a few times, though I fell in love with it after just one try. I applied it after my moisturizer, and it instantly gave my skin a soft, iridescent sheen which managed to leave my skin glowing even after applying foundation. {Because my skin is so dry I barely use any powder, which I’m sure contributes to the visibility of this product; I imagine if I’d applied a full layer of powder all over, it may not have been as evident.} I loved that even hours after application, my skin maintained that soft glow (not shiny or greasy-looking). My only complaint? I haven’t been able to find it at any of the stores in my area! I imagine that’s due to the fact that it’s new. A nearby CVS had only an empty display for the product and its close relative, the Magic Lumi concealer (which I’m now very interested in trying out). If I don’t find it in the next couple of days, I’ll just order it online. I may even post some photos of what my make up looks like with and without the product. I just love when products actually live up to their name!
